Key Initiatives

Corporate Accountability and Disclosure

The Administration is committed to bolstering corporate accountability and disclosure for public companies in the U.S. capital markets. The main areas of action are:

  • Providing better information to investors
  • Holding corporate officers and directors accountable
  • Developing a stronger, more independent corporate audit system
The speeches below focus on the first area. They call for companies to offer and capital markets to demand clearer disclosure of companies' true financial leverage and key indicators of business performance.
