OFAC has released its Economic Sanctions Enforcement Guidelines  as a final rule. The final rule, which will appear as an Appendix to the Reporting, Procedures and Penalties Regulations, 31 C.F.R. Part 501, sets forth the Enforcement Guidelines that OFAC will follow in determining an appropriate enforcement response to apparent violations of U.S. economic sanctions programs that OFAC enforces. The Guidelines promulgated by the final rule replace the Guidelines previously promulgated as an interim final rule with request for comments on September 8, 2008.
